White-Collar Criminal Practice

We have had extensive experience and success in both avoiding white collar criminal prosecutions and in defending them. Two of our partners served in the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York, and all of our lawyers have been involved with the criminal justice system, either through trying cases or through experience as law clerks to federal judges. We are well-known at the SEC and in the prosecutors' offices, have credibility with government lawyers, and have developed expertise at steering people and companies through the maze of investigations without harm. Some of our cases over the years have been very well known, including a unanimous victory for a motion picture producer in the U.S. Supreme Court that has become the leading case on perjury, and one of our partners is well known for his role as the prosecutor in the leading Second Circuit case on fraud under the Williams Act. We have been involved in securities, bribery, tax evasion, bank fraud, perjury, embezzlement and antitrust cases, such as the recent Sotheby's/Christie's antitrust case. Our lawyers have published and taught in this field, and are periodically called upon by the media to comment on developments.
